Great beers hit different when you’re able to truly take the time to enjoy them. Stopping on a hike up the Pyrenees to crack this Pinot Noir lambic from Gueuzerie Tilquin, one of the youngest lambic blenderies and the only in the French-speaking, South Belgian region of Wallonia 🇧🇪
Packed with 350g/L of Pinot Noir grapes, this fruited lambic is spritzy, dry and fantastically complex. The grapes give off a tart, acidic cherry and raspberry profile with a slight earthy edge, which is supported by a musty, Brettanomyces funk and woody, oak finish.
Some beers are for smashing, others are better sipped.
